If you are in charge of getting lightbars for your police vehicles, you will want to consider the federal signal ILS. FedSig has created the Solaris Internal Lighting Systems as a way of warning people and still keep a low profile. However, they are still engineered with the LED reflector design that Solaris is famous for. This design offers superior performance as does a full-size light bar. It offers many pre-programmed patterns and three modes of operation.
Advanced Features
The FedSign ILS system includes Solaris LED reflectors and Reliable Onboard Circuitry (ROC) technology. The reflectors offer the highest optical efficiency by using offset surface reflectors. The ROC feature can eliminate up to 85 percent of possible failure points that are found in regular lighting options.
This system from Federal Signal also uses a microprocessor control to provide three different operation modes, new flash patterns that are pre-programmed into the vehicle and even test patterns.
A simple connection allows for easy installation, as you have snap-in connections, a power, and ground.
Models
There are two main design options, including front and rear headliner options and are meant to be placed in the interior of the vehicle, blending in remarkably well. Choosing the back model can also allow you to use your vehicle as a light for direction or as a standard warning. Colors available include green, red, blue, amber and white.
Front Headliner
Front inside lights can be exceptionally helpful when trying to move people out of the way in a hurry. This option works best for those who need to have a low profile until the very end, such as plainclothes police officers or those undercover. The lights cannot be seen from the outside or inside until they are turned on, making them completely invisible until you are ready to be seen.
Rear Headliner/Deck
Rear headliner or deck lights are also helpful for officers undercover. These lights are placed on the backside of the vehicle, on the inside. They are typically used as an emergency warning or a direction light. While this option is meant for those undercover, it is an excellent choice for regular police vehicles, as well, because it can be used in any emergency to help the flow of traffic or warn others of a problem up ahead.
