Keeping the Beverage Production Process Safe

Clean Water is Key

Water makes up a considerable portion of most beverages and must be kept safe. A key role in the beverage production process is pre-filtering the water. This will protect the final filters in the beverage processing systems, so that the filter train lasts for a good long while.

This will not only save you money, but it will also reduce initial bioburden. The final filtration process will take out any microorganism like mold, bacteria, protozoa and yeast, giving you enhanced quality water that is free of any contaminants.

Creating Carbonation

The next step in the beverage production process is carbonization, which involves infusing the beverage mixture with carbon dioxide. Obviously, this step is not necessary for non-carbonated beverages.

In the large scale beverage processing systems, it is better to have the water carbonated independently. The carbonated water is then combined with the other ingredients prior to the bottling of the end product.

Carbonation should not be added to any beverage at less than four degrees Celsius. The reason for this is because the carbon dioxide will escape and result in a flat drink.

Only use stainless steel pumps with the beverage carbonator. Adding carbonation anything other than just plain water will remove the copper from the brass fittings. If this happens, it could lead to copper poisoning. Therefore, it is always best to only invest in beverage processing systems for the manufacturers that you know you can rely on to provide you with the highest quality equipment for your beverage production operation.
