Training your cat at home with pee pads may sometimes seem frustrating, especially if your pet isn’t taking to the lessons as quickly as you might like. Here are tips to help you get the results you want much sooner.

Be Patient

When you try to use potty pads for cats the first time around, you might have less-than-stellar results. Be patient. If you’re anxious, frustrated, or impatient, your cat will pick up on those emotions. That might affect how your feline friend will react to the potty pads. If it attaches a negative emotion or memory to the pads, though, the training will be so much harder.

Start Simple

Just put the pee pad inside a litter box. Training your cat to use the pad is like training it to use a litter box. Whenever you think your cat is ready to do its business, carry your furry friend over to the pad. If you do that enough times, your cat will start to get the hint and will look for the pads the next time he needs to go and pee.

Use Cat Litter

You can also use cat litter. Surround the pad with cat litter or put some of them on the pad. That can help clue your pet in as to how those pads are used. Once your cat starts using the pads religiously, though, you won’t have to add any cat litter anymore. That saves you the cost of cat litter the next time you shop around for pet supplies.

Tape to the Walls

If your cat tends to spray, though, you might want to train him to do his business in the same spot. Tape some pads to the walls to absorb the sprays. That way, you can make cleanup a lot faster and easier Business Name.
