Clear Erase paint is a type of wall finish that is becoming increasingly popular for home, business and school use. Essentially, clear erase finish transforms any flat surface into a dry-erase board that you can cover with writing that erases away whenever you want. Wink is a specific brand of clear erase finish that is known for being easy to use. It can be applied to metal, wood, wallboard, wallpaper and elsewhere.
Advantages of Wink
A Wink-covered surface wipes-down easily and completely; there is no trace of the writing that was just there afterwards. Furthermore, it has no odor, and, therefore, there is no need to restrict its use to designated rooms of a structure. You can also apply it while other people are using the space.
At home, Wink can turn a wall in a play area into a coloring space. In the workplace, an unused surface becomes a board for the employee schedule, and in the classroom, there’s no need to hang dry-erase boards when you have wink. It also costs less by the square foot than dry-erase boards. Essentially, Wink helps you get more mileage out of your walls!
How to apply and maintain
Wink rolls on with a nine-inch roller. It’s clear, so that whatever surface you apply it on will shine through. Nicks and dings will also be visible, so they need to be sanded off before application takes place. Likewise, the surface should be cleaned and allowed to dry at least four-hours before application of Wink. As with any finish, it’s key to maintain a wet age as you apply it. Use a smaller brush to cut-in if necessary. It takes approximately five days for Wink to fully dry and leave you with a flat space for your creative expression.
