The yachting community is now beginning to embrace Dynamic Positioning as a viable option on yachts over 40ft. Most mid-size yachts have never considered DP. Now yachts under 100 ft. can move up to this wonderful upgrade, and naturally all yachts up to 400 ft. can use Sta-Put as well.

Guests’ safety and comfort are greatly improved. Crew requirements during critical maneuvering are simplified. The Captain can relax, and be pay attention to other important issues, with the confidence that the vessel is in control.

Dynamic Positioning is nothing new. It was initially developed for the offshore oil industry and oceanographic applications. Dynamic Positioning enables a vessel to stay within a 10 ft. area, no ground tackle necessary!. This method first appeared in the 1970’s, and is a proven technology.

This agility is managed with computer controlled thrusters and general propulsion. An adequate GPS system is necessary of course.

Benefits of Dynamic Positioning

1. Sit directly over a protected reef, without an anchor! This is the only method that allows you to safely-and-legally place a vessel over a reef.
2. Launch and recovery of the larger yacht’s tender can be safely and quickly performed

3. Holding station in a fairway, while awaiting a lock or bridge movement, can be much less stressful and labor intensive. Crew requirements can be simplified.

4. Some may decide to use the latest mini ROV submerged under the surface and observing all the fish, and beautiful coral. Dynamic Positioning can help you hold station.

5. Waiting in a fairway to prepare for docking and shore-side assistance is a snap with our system’s “automatic station keeping”. All it takes is the push of a button!

6. Allows for adjusting your anchorage, without anchor. This is the safest, most comfortable automatic bow heading.
7. This system can work with your current joystick controller, if necessary. Interfacing the software is needed. Everything is fine tuned, and in control.

8. Fishermen can find the “spot” they love, and sit on it all day, no matter how deep the water. What if your favorite hot spot is in 800ft of water? No anchor necessary with Dynamic Positioning.

We can adapt to virtually any vessel, using almost any type of propulsion. Duel engines, and a bow thruster are usual minimums, however, we can adjust by adding secondary propulsion, or even 3 thrusters with an auxiliary power plant. We will do our best to custom fit any vessel! New builds or refits, all are no problem.
