Los Angeles has many neighborhoods that a family or individual can move into. Most areas are great places to live that have much to offer. There are great views of a variety of scenery. Many neighborhoods are within walking distance of historic landmarks and other attractions. One of the best aspects of living in the Los Angeles area is the ocean. You can find new condos for sale in Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Malibu, or Long Beach. The area you choose will depend upon whichever one fits your lifestyle and your budget. Many waterfront locations are highly sought after, and can be more expensive. However, there are some locations on or near the water that can be purchased for a more reasonable price.
Venice Beach
Venice Beach is a popular beach area among tourists and area residents. In the summer it is filled with people, vendors, street performers. People of all kinds are attracted to the boardwalk, and congregate there in the summer. Venice Beach was built having a network of canals that helped drain the marshland it was built on. This is how Venice Beach came to be named after Venice, Italy. Some canals still remain, although many of them have been filled in now and turned into streets. Homes and condos in the Venice Beach area can vary quite a bit in price.
Malibu
Malibu is an affluent city near Los Angeles. It’s beaches are very popular with surfers, who gave it the nickname The Bu. Malibu is well-known for its sandy beaches and for being the home of many wealthy Hollywood celebrities. Most residents of Malibu live close to the Pacific Coast Highway. Some residents live up to a mile away from the water. Most properties in the Malibu area are on the more expensive side.
Long Beach
Long Beach is located south of downtown Los Angeles. The area is full of attractions and offers lots of waterfront property. Being further away from the center of LA, makes property in Long Beach a bit less expensive. Long Beach can offer more affordable homes that would be suitable for an average family’s budget.
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is another popular beach location in the LA area. The Santa Monica area is also known as Dogtown, and is famous for giving birth to skateboarding. Properties in Santa Monica can vary some in price, but waterfront properties will be the ones on the expensive side.
