What is Meant by CNC?

CNC stands for “Computer Numerical Control” and refers to coded programming instructions that allows a computer program to take control of the machines responsible for producing the desired piece or part. This means that no human operation is required after the person inputs the instructions on completing the part into the computer program.

What Are The Advantages of Precision CNC Machining?

Precision CNC machining provides many advantages over traditional engineering and processing of critical parts and components. Because a computer program is controlling the machines, it can provide exact measurements and attention to detail that a human operator could not provide, thereby resulting in exact measurements with each cut. Due to this precision, CNC machining can fit very tight standards, down to within a range of a few microns or micrometers, much more exact than a human could provide. Additionally, the computer program can repeat that process indefinitely to the same level of degree that a human could never duplicate with any regularity.

Besides the exact measurements and lack of deviation with each piece or part produced, CNC machining also provides exceptionally smooth surfaces at a level that a human could not achieve. Add in that a computer controlling a machine can produce these parts at volumes and quantities no human ever could, no matter how much experience or skill the person has.
