When most people think about survival gear, the word “Bracelet” is usually not one of the first to jump to mind. However, when the bracelet in question is a parachute cord bracelet, it definitely does bear some consideration. More than a fashion statement, these little bracelets are made to be tough and versatile with a multitude of uses.

Paracord Bracelet Specs

These hand-made bracelets are made from over 12 feet paracord tested to 550 pound capacity. The paracord is military grade nylon woven in the “King-Cobra” weave. The rope is both waterproof and mildew resistant. It is available in size nine, the most common size for bracelets, but it can be adjusted to other sizes via the three size latches on the stainless steel buckle.  It is available in four colors, black, camo, flat black earth and olive drab.

Paracord Bracelet Features

In a survival situation, the parachute cord bracelet can easily be reduced to its component parts, the most obvious being the 12 feet of rope. Other features and components include a watch, a compass, an emergency whistle and a fire starter. All of these can be used easily without disassembling the bracelet.

Uses for the Paracord Bracelet

You never know exactly how many uses there are for a survival tool until you are actually in a survival situation. In the case of the parachute cord bracelet, however, there are already several uses for which it has been designed and/or tested. For gathering food, the paracord can be made into a trap or snare, or unraveled to make fishing line or a net. It can even be used as a string for a makeshift hunting bow.

If you get injured, the paracord can be used to make a tourniquet, splint or sling. For clothing repairs, it can be used as a belt, suspenders or shoelaces. As well, the cord can be taken apart so the inner threads can be used for sewing. It can also be used as a tow line, a clothes line or as part of a hammock. For carrying your tools and gear, the cord can be utilized to make a body harness or a sack. For defensive purposes, it can be used to make a trip wire, trap or spear, or even used as handcuffs. The only limits to the use of parachute cord bracelet are your imagination and your survival needs.
