There are many different types of wastewater treatment solutions that span across a variety of industries. The treatment solutions are tailored to meet the requirements of one or more than one different wastewater considerations, which may include removing specific types of compounds from the water to removing solids or organic materials from wastewater in food and beverage processing or other similar types of applications.

The key is to select the most effective wastewater treatment solutions that offer the best return on investment. This includes the processes that are most efficient and provide the treatment of the wastewater to meet municipal, state and federal requirements.

To help with an overview of the different possibilities, a closer look at a few commonly used types of wastewater treatment systems provides a better picture of the possible processes.

Clarifiers

Clarifiers are used to remove small and large suspended materials from the wastewater. This can include removing suspended solids to as little as 2ppm. This is often used as a process for iron removal in fabricating metal plants, railway yards and where industrial waste metals are present in sludge and wastewater.

Filtration

Using sand or multi-media filtration systems, the solid removal from wastewater can include organic materials as well as any type of small particle contaminant. These systems are low cost to operate and very easy to maintain, making them an ideal choice of metals, iron, suspended solids, and lead filtration requirements.

Air Strippers

To remove volatile organic compounds or VOCs from both potable water as well as wastewater, air strippers can also remove hydrocarbons and dissolved gasoline range organics. These systems can also be used to remove radon from wastewater and also remove dissolved chlorinated organic compounds and also remove carbon dioxide.

With optimal performance, any of these systems can be the right choice in wastewater treatment solutions for your facility.
