Cardiologists have relied on cardiac PET for decades to help them diagnose cardiac artery disease (CAD) in their patients. Often, cardiologists have to send their patients to offsite cardiac PET to get these diagnostic services. However, today, more and more practices are discovering the value of having a fixed site cardiac PET in the office, and here’s why.

Faster Diagnosis

Patients who are at risk of developing CAD need precise interventional needs without delay. The longer a patient is left undiagnosed, the faster the disease can progress. The data collected from the PET give cardiologists answers quicker and provides their patients with a treatment protocol faster. Additionally, the information gathered from the PET gives cardiologists a good idea of how well interventional procedures such as CABG and angioplasty might work.

Technology Is Easy to Read

The images the PET cameras return have excellent resolution and clarity. Those reading the results have increased confidence in interpreting the findings. IN the past, some technology has been difficult to read and cardiology practices preferred to send their patients to off-site facilities where staff were able to interpret the information better. With improved technology, practices throughout the country can now diagnose their patients faster and with greater confidence.

How Many Practices Are Using the Cardia PET?

The number continues to grow every day. In 2018, approximately 200 cardiologist practices throughout the country had this technology in their office. As more and more practices learn about the benefits of a fixed site cardiac PET, the number increases. To learn more about this technology, contact Cardiac Imaging, Inc.
